The Friedkin Group are not messing about as the Everton owners look into their next venture.
It was thought that the Friedkins would buy Boston Celtics, but since then a deal between the two never came to fruition as the basketball giants were bought by William Chisholm.
Despite Dan Friedkin’s unsuccessful pursuit, I’m sure he won’t mind too much with his ownerships of Everton and Roma going well.
Obviously, the jury is still out on the new ownership but The Friedkins managed to finance Everton’s new stadium which is a positive sign.
Now after their failed pursuit of the Celtics, The Friedkins have turned their attention elsewhere.
It’s certainly a different view from the footballing world with Everton, but the Friedkins desire to purchase other sporting businesses should be a good sign to Toffees fans.
This also shows Friedkin’s ability to manage different areas of business showing how Everton have clearly got a straight-thinking owner.
Friedkin pulled a masterstroke in appointing David Moyes and might just be about to do it again.
According to The Athletic, Friedkin is considered a strong candidate to bring a hockey team to the city of Houston if and when the NHL decides to expand again.
It seems like the Hockey League wants to partner with the Friedkins having seen their work with other businesses like Everton.
With Houston being the city considered, further down the line Everton might have some trips lined up to the American city if things pan out well.
The Friedkins clearly have money to spend, but for Moyes and Everton’s sake, they hope to spend it wisely.
They’ve made all the right impressions so far but it seems like this move for the NHL could come with a hefty price.
Judging by the last expansion team in the NHL in Atalanta, it cost a whopping $2 billion, so there can’t be any excuses when it comes to spending for Everton in the summer.
As the Friedkins continue to make serious moves, Evertonians will be hoping they remain the priority, as, despite Moyes’ magic, a lot of work still needs to be done.
