MN: Milan yet to speak to Atalanta…see more

AC Milan will hire a new sporting director in the summer, and it seems there are some standout names for the post – yet only two have been contacted so far.

In the past week, the picture has shifted once again, and despite an agreement being found with Igli Tare, Milan are not set in stone on his appointment. In fact, there has been no movement at all just yet.

The candidates instead remain waiting, with Giorgio Furlani making several considerations, and Tuttomercatoweb have reported that there are a few preferences for the CEO.

It starts with knowledge, and it seems the club are putting a lot of weight on the knowldge of the Italian league and the ability to discover players domestically – however, Geoffrey Moncada has the ability to aid here, so it is not paramount.

Fabio Paratici sits as the leading candidate so far, and Tare follows behind. After that, it seems that Tony D’Amico is the third option, and the situation is possible for the Diavolo. Despite the fact that he has a contract until 2027 and likes Bergamo, the club admire him heavily, and he is on the list.

Worryingly though, he has not spoken to the club, nor have Milan made any contact with him.

Reports have already suggested that Furlani is set to make contact with all of the candidates in the next fortnight, so it is not a definitive suggestion of the club’s ambition, but it certainly does not give much confidence about his chances.
