The Los Angeles Lakers snapped their three-game losing streak with a 120-119 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, and it was all thanks to the heads-up playmaking of star forward LeBron James.
Down by two with just seven seconds left, L.A. put the ball in the hands of recently acquired superstar Luka Doncic.
The 26-year-old point guard went airborne and threw up a floater that bounced off the rim and right to the waiting hands of James who hit a tap-in just moments before the game clock expired.
The moment went viral on X, garnering hundreds of thousands of views between the several accounts sharing video of James’ heroics, and James was trending immediately after the game ended.
The Lakers even tweeted a pretty animated reaction to the incident.
“LeBron are you SERIOUS?!” the Lakers’ official X account tweeted.
The Lakers’ tweet sparked some pretty enthusiastic reactions from fans on social media, many of whom gave James rave reviews for his clutch moment (James has the second-most game-winning buzzer-beaters in NBA history, according to StatMamba.)
Bron is so clutch even when he had a terrible shooting game he always comes in for the clutch moment that’s why he’s the goat,” another added.
Always when the game is on the line you can depend on LeBron James,” one user declared.
James finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and a steal in 38 minutes. It was his lowest scoring output since he had a 12-point performance in Los Angeles’ 101-93 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder back on Nov. 29.
