The Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers had one of the craziest games anybody will ever see on Thursday night.

The Bulls trailed by five points with just 12 seconds left, but thanks to a couple of made threes and a half-court buzzer-beater by Josh Giddey, Chicago escaped with a 119-117 win. The Bulls outscored the Lakers 9-2 in the final 12 seconds of regulation to finish off an 18-point fourth-quarter comeback.

While it was an incredible comeback performance by the Bulls, the Lakers completely collapsed.

Following the game, Lakers superstar Luka Doncic got honest about how LA lost, despite nearly sealing it with just seconds remaining.

“I don’t think it’s about feeling sorry for ourselves,” Doncic said. “Just the way we lost, we basically had the game in hand.

Doncic finished the night with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, but nothing could have prevented the miracle that Chicago pulled off in the final seconds. Doncic then expanded on what led to the Lakers’ fourth-quarter collapse.

“We relaxed in the fourth quarter,” Doncic said. “We just gotta play the game for 48 minutes. If we play all 48 minutes with the same energy, we’re hard to beat.

The Lakers led by 18 points in the fourth quarter and simply took their foot off the gas. Of course, many should credit the Bulls for not giving up, and their resilience paid off. The Bulls put together an unbelievable fourth quarter, and the final 12 seconds of Thursday’s game will be etched into NBA history.
