Chelsea are going to have a difficult time finding a side who will willingly take Joao Felix off their hands at the end of this season.
It is clear the Portugal international is not in Enzo Maresca’s plans at Stamford Bridge after he only started a handful of Premier League games in his second spell at the club.
In fact, it was reported Maresca didn’t actually want Felix, with him preferring the club to sign a centre-back at that late stage of the summer window.
The Blues were able to loan him to AC Milan for the rest of the season, however Italian media have heavily criticised Felix for his performances since making the move there.
He has even dropped out of the starting side on occassion, however he was back in the side who took on Napoli in their most recent Serie A game.
Milan were defeated 2-1, with Felix again flattering to deceive. SiempreMilan gave him a 4.5/10 for his performance
They said: “The master of adding nothing, or at least very little, to the game. We have seen it so many times before this season and tonight was no different.”
Milan are reportedly not keen on permanently signing Felix at the end of the season, leaving him at a crossroads when the transfer window opens again.
It has been claimed that Felix is keen on joining Galatasaray, however this would likely have to be on loan, something the Blues will be looking to avoid.
In the 55 minutes he featured against Antonio Conte’s side, Felix was unable to complete a dribble, something he has made one of his biggest strengths in his professional career.
Elsewhere on loan, teenage goalkeeper Mike Penders kept another clean sheet as Genk defeated Gent 4-0, and even though he was between the sticks he managed to complete a dribble in that game.
Penders is backing himself to be number one at Stamford Bridge as soon as next season, with the goalkeeper situation one that remains unclear going into next season.
It has been reported Maresca wants a new ‘keeper after underwhelming displays from Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen this season.
