Over the weekend, several Alabama players made an hour and a half long drive to spend time with a young boy named Will, who is currently battling cancer. Instead of taking the weekend to recuperate their bodies or spending time in Tuscaloosa, the core of players put their lives to the side and decided to do something special.
The group of players that made the trip to see Will included Qua Russaw, Wilkin Formby, Richard Young, Kadyn Proctor, LT Overton, and Tim Keenan III.
Tide 100.9’s Ryan C. Fowler detailed the act of kindness on X late Sunday evening.
named Will, who is battling cancer and will undergo surgery in April in Houston, Texas, to have his femur removed. Will was having a farewell party with some of his friends in the community, which they called Farewell Femur,” Fowler wrote.
In addition, Fowler concluded the post by showing gratitude to the group of Alabama players.
“Thank you, Wilkin, Qua, Tim, LT, Richard, and Kadyn, for representing the University of Alabama with class. More importantly, thank you for being people of faith and for sharing the love of Jesus Christ with Will before he faces this significant surgery and his ongoing battle with cancer.”
