Il presidente dell’Inter Milan rivela la sorprendente differenza tra il numero di premi della Serie A e quello della Champions League

Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta took stock of a remarkable discrepancy in prize pools between the Champions League and Serie A.

Speaking to the press via FCInter1908, he emphasized the importance of maintaining stability within the club while competing at the highest level.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri chief hailed Inter’s remarkable campaign.

After winning his first Scudetto at Inter last term, Simone Inzaghi could make history this season.

The 48-year-old is on course to replicate Jose Mourinho’s iconic treble from 2010.

However, the road is still long and treacherous, with Inter facing several high-profile games in the next two weeks.

For starters, they’ll take on AC Milan in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final tie tomorrow night.

Unfortunately, they’ll need to make it without talismanic captain Lautaro Martinez, who’s out injured.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi’s charges will encounter Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Going the distance at Europe’s top table would significantly bolster the club’s finances ahead of a transitional summer.

“I believe the key is to be present at the right moment, and we are, Marotta said. “We’re competing in three tournaments, and in June, a new one will start with two Italian teams involved.

“We’re here: the first challenge is tomorrow, the Coppa Italia semi-final against Milan.

“In the league, we have a three-point lead, which is nothing, but we’re in the race.

“In the Champions League, we’re in the quarterfinals against Bayern.

“This stems from the fact that ownership didn’t dismantle a winning team, both on and off the pitch.

“We’ve continued on our successful and sustainable path, and our position is strong – something to be proud of.

“We will face everything in the best possible way, but we’ve already hit a key target: participating at this level gives us stability.

“At the same time, I point out that we’ve played 10 matches in the Champions League and earned around €100 million.

“Winning the Serie A title would bring in about €95 million – but across 38 games.

“A financial rebalance is needed, but in a harmonious way, avoiding the extreme conflicts of the past.

“Today, the gap primarily comes from TV rights, and the league is working on it.

“The second difference is stadium revenue on matchdays. We, as Inter, led in attendance and stadium income, reaching around €80 million.

“However, our European competitors outpace us by €60-70 million.

“That’s why a new stadium is essential – creating an asset that becomes part of the club’s heritage.”
