Milan have been repeatedly linked with a move for Guler ever since his emergence at Fenerbahce, and the stories haven’t stopped since he joined Real Madrid. According to CaughtOffside, there are a queue of clubs monitoring his situation as he struggles for playing time.

The latest team to show interest in the young attacking midfielder are Liverpool. They add that ‘sources with a close understanding of Guler’s situation have informed CaughtOffside that Liverpool are among the teams monitoring him as a potential transfer target’.

The 20-year-old was recently engaged in a social media spat with Reds midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai following a game between Turkey and Hungary, which could present an obstacle, even if it is likely they ‘can put issues like this behind them’.

Aston Villa have a strong interest in Guler, but other suitors include Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, Milan and Inter in Serie A plus Sevilla and Real Sociedad in LaLiga.

CaughtOffside add: “It remains to be seen if Madrid will let Guler go at this stage, but it seems possible that this is something that could be explored if the player doesn’t get more opportunities in the weeks and months ahead.
