Breaking news: Milan alerted as Lazio consider sale of €40m star why Arsenal are implicated

According to this morning’s edition of Il Messaggero (via MilanNews), Tavares’ latest muscle injury this season has frustrated Lazio owner Claudio Lotito and the management. They are now seriously considering the possibility of putting him on the market in the summer.

First they will buy him permanently from Arsenal, then they will proceed with listening to possible offers starting from the rather important stipulation that the Gunners will be entitled to 40% of the proceeds from a future resale.

Lazio will set a €40m asking price knowing that Inter, Milan and Juventus have shown appreciation towards him in recent weeks, as well as Galatasaray in Turkey. However, these discussions are premature, because Tavares must recovered from his injury and end the season well.

As a reminder, Milan are currently expected to sell Theo Hernandez at the end of the season. His contract situation (expiring in 2026) and his below-par performances mean the Rossoneri could therefore be looking for a new starting left-back.

One incident in particular that annoyed a large part of the Milan fan base involving Theo. In the 41st minute of Saturday’s draw with Fiorentina, he and Dodo had an argument while Gudmundsson passed at close quarters, being allowed to put the ball into a dangerous area.
