Bills considering a trade for the disgruntled $112 million star Steelers

The Buffalo Bills made a big splash on defender during the free agency period, signing Pro Bowl edge rusher Joey Bosa. They also extended Christian Benford to be their top cornerback for the foreseeable future. That said, the Bills may be able to make another huge move, as a star player seems to have hinted wanting a trade.

Pittsburgh Steelers star edge rusher T.J. Watt posted a photo of himself giving the peace sign, perhaps signaling he wants traded out of Pittsburgh. Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has taken a very similar route this offseason, posting the emoji of the peace sign on X in response to multiple analysts saying he could be traded. Hill himself said he wants out of Miami after their 2024 season finale against the New York Jets.

In terms of Watt, he is due for an extension, as 2025 is the final year of his deal. The former Defensive Player of the Year is coming off an 11.5 sack season, which is his lowest total in a full season since his rookie year in 2017. The Steelers are in the midst of a playoff win drought, having not won a game in the postseason since the 2016 season. The Bills would need to pay the star edge rusher upon trading for him, but Watt is the type of player that would get the Bills over the Kansas City Chiefs-sized hump in the AFC and get them to a Super Bowl.
