Antonio Conte has reportedly come to a decision over his immediate future, and has made it clear that he would like to stay on with Napoli for the 2025-26 season at least according to Monday’s reports in Italy.
Though he was only appointed less than a year ago, Conte has already been linked with moves away from the Stadio Maradona, most notably to Juventus, who are still considering options with Igor Tudor currently employed on an interim basis until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Milan, meanwhile, had also considered appointing Conte at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, and are also on the lookout for a new head coach to replace Sergio Conceicao at the end of the current season.
However, despite interest from one of his former clubs, and from the Rossoneri, Conte has decided that he wants to stay on with Napoli for 2025-26 according to Monday’s reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Pink Papers claims that Conte wants to ‘finish’ the project he started, and guide Napoli into their Champions League campaign in 2025-26.
Napoli are also expected to have a major overhaul in the summer transfer window, which will largely be funded by the expected sale of Galatasaray loanee Victor Osimhen, on top of the money that was raised from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s January move go Paris Saint-Germain.
Conte is expected to have a major influence on the Partenopei recruitment drive.
First, though, Napoli and the head coach are due to take on Empoli in Serie A on Monday evening, with the aim of returning to a position three points off league leaders Inter in the standings.
The Partenopei are currently six points off top spot with seven of their own matches left to play this season, following the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 win over Cagliari on Saturday.
