The Golden State Warriors are preparing for Game 2 of their first round series against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night as they have Tuesday off.
Of course, Golden State took Game 1 on the road to grab a 1-0 series lead behind incredible performances out of their star duo of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.
While Curry and the Warriors were off on Tuesday night, a different Western Conference superstar channeled his inner Curry with an incredible play.
That player is Los Angeles Lakers star guard Luka Doncic, who had a massive first half in the Lakers’ Game 2 matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Doncic hit a Curry-like gesture following a three-point make on Tuesday night against the Timberwolves and credited Curry after the shot.
“After the shot, I looked at the bench. I did my best Steph impression,” Doncic said during Tuesday’s Game 2 matchup between the Lakers and Timberwolves.
Doncic had an incredible first half to put the Lakers up as he scored 22 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists as he tries to help Los Angeles defend their home court and avoid falling behind 0-2 in the series.
Of course, Doncic also had his impressive three-point shot that was Curry-like, which Warriors fans are used to seeing.
Curry has patented his look-away three-point shot as the proclaimed “greatest shooter of all time” knows when one is going to find the bottom of the net, which he has been able to do more than any other player in NBA history.
The Warriors hope that Curry can do that a lot on Wednesday night as they travel to Houston for Game 2 of their playoff series looking to take a commanding 2-0 series lead before heading back to The Bay for Game 3 and 4.
