Kyle Hamilton is a Swiss army knife and arguably the best and most versatile safety in the NFL. Not long ago, Hamilton was a multi-sports athlete in Georgia, who just so happened to guard Timberwolves All-NBA guard Anthony Edwards during an AAU matchup.
On Saturday night, Edwards finished with 29 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and two steals while hitting five threes as Minnesota took a 2-1 series lead over the Lakers with a 116-104 win at home. Following the matchup, Hamilton posted a photo of himself guarding Edwards during AAU and offered his services to the Lakers.
Hamilton was born in Heraklion, Greece, and briefly lived in Russia before his family moved to Atlanta. His father, Derrick Hamilton, was a professional basketball player who helped develop the two-sport star. Edwards played for the Atlanta Xpress 15-under AAU team, which competed in the Adidas 3SSB circuit. This team helped him gain national recognition as a top prospect. He later played for AE5, also an Adidas 3SSB program, before signing with the University of Georgia.
