The Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on Minnesota Timberwolves for Game 5 of their first round NBA playoff series on Wednesday, April 30 at the Crypto.com Arena. All eyes would be on superstar Luka Doncic, whether he features against the Timberwolves or not.
The 26-year-old point guard is not listed on the team’s injury report which means that he will be starting Game 5 against Minnesota Timberwolves. Doncic was acquired midway by the Lakers in a blockbuster trade that saw him move to Lakers and Anthony Davis going to Dallas Mavericks.
Since moving his base to the Lakers, Doncic has been a key figure for the team. He featured in 28 regular season games for the Lakers as he averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
He has featured in all the four playoff games so far against the Timberwolves. In Game 1, he played for a total of 40 minutes and registered 37 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. During Game 2, Doncic played for 42 minutes as he registered 31 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 block.
In Game 3, Doncic played for 40 minutes and notched up 17 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. During Game 4, Doncic featured on the court for 46 minutes. He had 38 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block to his name. Luka Doncic has averaged 23.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.0 assists in the 18 games that he has played against the Timberwolves in his career.
The seven game series is currently led by Los Angeles Lakers 3-1. They go into Game 5 with a commanding lead and if they win this game, then they would clinch the series.
