Edwards’ performance in the 2025 playoffs has been stellar, averaging 29.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists over four games (via StatMuse). This continues his upward trajectory from the regular season, where he posted averages of 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists across 79 games.
After the game, Edwards was asked about what it feels like facing James and Doncic. The star guard made it clear he is trying to prove he belongs on this stage against the two Lakers stars.
“Going against Bron and Luka,” he began. “Luka probably the best young player in the game. And Bron is the best player living the game… Just tryna prove that I belong.”
Edwards’ current postseason run is reminiscent of his breakout performance in the playoffs last year, where he led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals. During that span, Minnesota swept Kevin Durant’s Phoenix Suns and overcame Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets in a seven-game series, before falling to Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks.
As the Timberwolves prepare for Game 5 in Los Angeles, they aim to close out the series and advance further in the playoffs. With Edwards leading the charge, Minnesota looks poised to continue their impressive postseason run.
