Simone Inzaghi and Hakan Calhanoglu will each receive a one-match suspension due to an investigation into Inter Milan ultras the Curva Nord.
This is confirmed by the Italian FA, via FCInterNews. The two will be missing for Inter’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona this weekend.
Inter Milan ultras group the Curva Nord have been under investigation for the past several months. Authorities have been investing the Nord along with AC Milan counterparts the Curva Sud.
This investigation has concerned the alleged criminal activities and mafia ties of the ultras groups.
And as part of the investigation, prosecutors have questioned various major figures at both the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri.
For Inter, the three most prominent figures questioned regarding their interactions with the ultras have been coach Simone Inzaghi, midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, and Vice-President Javier Zanetti.
Meanwhile, prosecutors have investigating ways in which negligence on the clubs’ part could have enabled alleged criminal behaviour by the ultras.
And Inter Milan have reached a settlement agreement with the Italian FA.
Firstly, midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has reached a settlement regarding his interactions with Curva Nord leader Marco Ferdico.
The Turkish international will pay a fine of €30,000. Furthermore, he will also serve a one-match suspension.
The suspension will be immediate. Therefore, Calhanoglu will miss this Saturday’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona.
Similarly, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will also serve a one-mach suspension. Therefore, he will not be on the touchline against Verona.
Furthermore, Inzaghi has also agreed to pay a fine of €15,000.
Meanwhile, Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti will pay a fine of €14,500 for his own interactions with the ultras.
