The Los Angeles Lakers have officially been eliminated from the NBA playoffs.

Los Angeles lost in a first-round series to the Minnesota Timberwolves, falling 4-1 to Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle and company.

Despite having home-court advantage in Game 5 of the series, the Lakers suffered a 103-96 loss with their backs against the wall.

After the season, re-evaluations will come from the front office and coaching staff, reviewing the best course of action for the future of the roster.

While the Lakers look to release and add talent through free agency and the draft process, they received a quick note from rookie Bronny James after the game.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Bronny James has decided he will play in the Las Vegas Summer League for the second straight summer.

Bronny James, the son of Lakers star LeBron James, was originally selected by the Lakers with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

He spent his rookie season bouncing around from the G League to the active roster. While Bronny James struggled at times, he carved out a nice role with the South Bay Lakers in the developmental program.

During his time in the G League, Bronny James averaged 21.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.

During his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers, playing in 27 games for the Lakers, Bronny James averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.

When he was available for the Lakers, the rookie averaged 6.7 minutes per game in the regular season, per ESPN.
