A decision on the new Milan sporting director…see more

The month of May will be decisive for Milan, not only on a sporting level but also on a managerial one.

Right now, all energies are obviously focused on the Coppa Italia final scheduled for next May 14th in Rome against Bologna, a match that Sergio Conceição and the players want (and must) win in order to make a season that has brought more disappointments than joys less bitter, as told via Milannews.it.

Inevitably, this further delays the choice of the new sporting director, which in any case the Rossoneri board aims to make by the end of this month, so as to put themselves in a position to begin planning for next season. Il Corriere dello Sport writes this morning that the names are always the same: Igli Tare and Tony D’Amico, with the latter being courted by Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani until the person directly involved, and Atalanta, deliver a definitive “no.”

In addition to convincing the individuals in question, it will be necessary for there to be a certain unity of intent within the management: Gerry Cardinale, Giorgio Furlani, and Zlatan Ibrahimović will necessarily have to align their respective ideas toward a single direction. Not a simple operation, considering the movements of recent months.

Moreover, the option of not intervening on the managerial side by not adding any new figure within the organizational chart is the last in order of preference at the club’s headquarters, and therefore this suggests that there will be a new sporting director (perhaps). In the meantime, time is passing, and there is a serious risk that Milan may register a significant delay in its schedule compared to its rivals.
