Fbs: From 20% to 80% – the chances of various Milan players leaving…see more

In addition to thinking about the new sporting director and a possible change in coach, AC Milan must make decisions on their current squad.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport write, there’s a month left until the start of the transfer market. With that strange window from June 1st to June 10th designed for the Club World Cup, and the clubs are moving. Some more openly, many in silence.

Milan seem focused on other things – the sporting director , the coach – but they’re also thinking about doing some business, with players to renew and proposals from other clubs. Player by player, they have broken down the chances of each potential exit.

Rafael Leao

Leao is the symbol of Milan according to the fans. His year has been a classic one with ups and downs, while his contract will expire in June 2028 and in short, there is no need to sell. It will all depend on the offers, with the sights set on the Premier League and especially Saudi Arabia.

These are the two markets where clubs can spend a lot, and for Rafa – between salary and contract – they will have to spend a lot. The clause will be activate in July, but it doesn’t count for much because €175m is too high. Chance of farewell: 35%.

Fikayo Tomori

Tomori has always said he is happy at Milan and won’t leave unless they want him to. He was close to departing  in December and January: Juventus and then Tottenham reached an agreement with Milan, then the deal didn’t happen and Tomori was certainly not disappointed.

In the summer though he or Malick Thiaw will almost certainly leave, although first we need to understand whether the 2025-26 coach will play with a three-man or four-man defence. In the first case, at least one more defender will be needed. Chance of farewell: 40%.

Mike Maignan

This is perhaps the most interesting case, because he has a starting spot at Milan and the big clubs are often happy with their No.1. Who would need Maignan? Bayern Munich. Manchester United, even if the investment in Onana remains heavy. Chelsea.

Maignan has only one year left on his contract and, in the event of a serious offer, he can leave. Saudi Arabia and PSG (if Donnarumma leaves) are options, and especially watch out for Chelsea. Milan have a verbal agreement over a new deal, and in theory can pick up where they left off. Chance of farewell: 60%.

Theo Hernandez

Theo starts from the same position as Maignan: a contract expiring in a year. His season was worse than that of ‘Magic Mike’ but his bond with Milano and AC Milan remains strong.

It is not easy for a renewal to arrive – there have been advanced discussions, but no recent contacts with his agents – even if the situation here is open. What will the ending depend on? An offer from a top club, and the ideas of the new sporting director. Chance of farewell: 50%.

Kyle Walker

Did Walker do badly in his three months at Milan? No, but not so well either. Sergio Conceicao found a balance without him, and though in the Coppa Italia final he can certainly lend a hand, the chances of him staying are low.

Milan can buy him for €5m but it is unlikely that they will do so. If the 2025-26 coach decides to play with a three-man defence, they will think about it seriously. Otherwise, it will be difficult. Chance of farewell: 80%.

Luka Jovic

How the world changes. In one month, Jovic has gone from a forgotten striker in rotations to a starter for Milan. Injuries permitting. The club can extend his contract from year to year and it would make a lot of sense at this time.

The Rossoneri could sign another striker, but Luka has everything to become a reliable rotation man: he plays alone or with another striker and knows the environment well now. Sure, he is unpredictable, but otherwise he wouldn’t be Luka Jovic. Chance of farewell: 20%.
