Mike Maignan has therefore managed to make the most of his difficulties and bounce back as only a champion knows how. But in fact, it could not have been otherwise, also because we are still talking about the captain of Milan. A situation that still needs to be validated by the club and the player, who, over the weeks, have essentially put the agreement on standby, especially after Maignan’s underwhelming start to the year.
However, this season finale should reopen the file to reach a positive conclusion of the deal, with CEO Furlani wanting to share this step with the potential new sporting director. But the drawn-out timing — also due to the Coppa Italia final in between — could lead the Milan executive to have to finalize Maignan’s potential renewal with the support of the current management structure.
