There will be several outgoings at Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners have a lot of work to do in the upcoming transfer window, and Andrea Berta has arrived to oversee the business.
All eyes will be on incomings once the window opens, but a few Arsenal players will head out the door as well before the start of next season.
Now, a surprise name has been added to the list of outgoings, if a report from Italy is to be believed.
The Gunners agreed to a £42 million deal with Bologna for the versatile Italian, and he came in with a lot of hype after an impressive showing at Euro 2024.
Calafiori has shown his quality in the famous red and white, but injuries have been really cruel to him this season. The defender has missed 122 days of football and counting.
That has led to Calafiori playing just over 1400 minutes of football all season, and he has found himself behind Myles Lewis-Skelly in the pecking order.
As a result of that, Milan Live have claimed that Arsenal are ready to listen to offers for Calafiori, just over nine months after signing him.
It has been claimed that the Gunners value him at £29 million now, and AC Milan and Juventus are both interested in his services.
Calafiori, who only joined Arsenal last summer, still has over four years left in his contract.
Arsenal’s reported valuation of £29 million will be viewed as a very small fee by fans, but that is still a big figure for AC Milan to meet this summer.
The Italian giants, however, think they can use a couple of players in a swap deal to get this transfer over the line.
The report claims that Arsenal particularly like Malick Thiaw, the Germany international central defender who has played 29 times for Milan this season.
The other player is Fikayo Tomori. The former Chelsea man was linked with a move to the Premier League in January, but no move materialised then. That could change in the summer.
Those are interesting options, but we think Arsenal should stick with Calafiori and give him an opportunity to overcome his injuries.
If he does that, we are convinced that he will become a star for the Gunners.
