For the second year in a row, AC Milan players will wear jerseys featuring their mothers’ last names in honor of Mother’s Day.
Milan will sport the special-edition kits during Friday’s Serie A match against Bologna at San Siro.
That means that every Milan player will have a different last name on their jersey than usual. Christian Pulisic, as he did last year, will have “Harlow” on his back while Yunus Musah will have “Abubakari.
Pulisic will hope to have a similar performance as last year, when he scored a brace against Cagliari while sporting his mother’s last name.
The new last names will feature in AC Milan’s official lineup announcement, and will also be displayed on the San Siro’s giant screens and read by the stadium announcer.
Milan and Bologna will meet twice in the span of a week. Following the Serie A match on Friday, the two teams will face off in Roma on Wednesday in the Coppa Italia final.
With Milan entering Friday’s match in ninth place, head coach Sérgio Conceição may opt to rotate his squad with a view toward a season-defining final days later.
One player Conceição won’t have available is the suspended Rafael Leão, whose mother’s last name is, ironically, Conceição.
