Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has been described as ‘underestimated’ by renowned Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti following AC Milan’s 3-1 victory over Bologna in Serie A.
Chukwueze, who came off the bench in the second half, played a crucial role in transforming the game for Milan after a sluggish first 70 minutes, capping his impact with an assist for their third goal in stoppage time.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, via Pianeta Milan, Pellegatti praised the impact of the Nigerian winger, saying, “Conceicao changes and returns to a 4-2-3-1 with a player who returns to the forefront and is often underestimated, namely Chukwueze.
Chukwueze entered the match at a time when Milan were trailing 1-0, with Riccardo Orsolini having scored for Bologna.
However, manager Paulo Fonseca changed his formation, introducing Chukwueze and Santiago Gimenez, whose double turned the tie around
Chukwueze’s dynamism on the flank helped Milan regain control and dominate the closing stages.
The former Villarreal man has had a mixed spell at the San Siro, struggling for consistent starts but showing glimpses of his quality.
His performance against Bologna could reignite his season and increase his importance in Milan’s push for a European spot.
The Rossoneri are now aiming to reach 66 points in the league, with their latest win boosting morale heading into the final stretch of the campaign.
For Chukwueze, it may mark the start of a renewed chapter in his Milan career.
