MN: Conceicao left with decision as Gimenez become…see more

Santiago Gimenez arrived at AC Milan with the hope of leading the Rossoneri back into the Champions League. However, things have not gone that way.

The first few months of Gimenez’s Milan career have certainly been tough. Whether that is for the Mexican striker or for the club itself – things have been really challenging, but neither has given up on the other.

Despite experiencing a drought, the Mexican now is in scintillating form, scoring three times in his last four games whilst assisting in another, proving he is still the goal threat that the Diavolo bought him to be.

There are multiple reasons for this, however the largest is down to Gimenez himself. In recent weeks, the striker admitted that he has a video analyst, studies his own games and what followed was goals.

As Calciomercato.com write, the striker now seems ‘lucid, calculating and analytical’ rather than being the lost striker that was seemingly present in the past months. This is due to his own hard work though and the guidance from Sergio Conceicao who never gave up on his big January purchase.

Now, Gimenez has been ‘reborn’, and his performances show this. Balance is still needed, of course, as is a continuation of this form. However, a clear signal has been sent to everyone that he is present and back firing, so Conceicao has a decision to make ahead of the cup final.

There is time to decide, but Gimenez’s recent form has shown that perhaps, there is not one to make.
