The Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves had his best season so far in his NBA career, establishing himself as one of the best offensive guards in the league. However, according to some reports, his time with the Lakers might be over
According to NBA writer Bill Simmons, Reaves will be traded this summer, and the return that the Lakers will get is not what the fans would expect.
“When Reaves gets traded this summer — and he will get traded — the stuff they [Lakers] get back for him is gonna make it seem worse that they [Mavericks] didn’t get him in the trade,” Simmons said on The Bill Simmons Podcast via NBA Retweet.
Trading Reaves would be an extremely controversial move among Lakers fans, as he still has two years left on his contract, with the second being a player option worth almost $15 million, which he will most likely reject, as he could definitely expect a bigger payday after multiple great seasons for the Lakers.
This season, he improved his averages across the board, averaging 20.2 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game
