The former Chelsea striker has struggled to make a significant impact during his time on loan at San Siro. Abraham is under contract with Roma until 2027, but his future in Italy remains uncertain. He has registered just three goals and five assists in 29 appearances for Milan and, according to Nicolo Schira, he is not part of Roma’s plans for next season, despite having two years left on his deal.
Abraham enjoyed an amazing start to his career at Milan, scoring a stoppage-time goal against rivals Inter in the Supercoppa final. However, the England international wasn’t able to build on it, failing to win over the Rossoneri fans and finding himself out of favour under current manager Sergio Conceicao.
Abraham’s Serie A career took a drastic turn after his ACL injury on the final matchday of the 2021-22 season with Roma. The issue kept him out of action for nearly nine months and after making his return in 2024, he struggled to regain form, managing just one goal in 12 appearances for the Giallorossi. With high wages and underwhelming performances, Abraham is no longer seen as a viable option for the Italian club.
After losing to Bologna in the Coppa Italia final this week, AC Milan are now focused on trying to finish in a European place with just two games remaining. Abraham, who came off the bench in Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat, has the chance to end to his Milan stint on a high, with a a Champions League spot still an outside possibility.
