Gbs: The defeat against Bologna must serve as a lesson…see more

The judgment against Milan, after a season like this one which ended at the Olimpico in the Coppa Italia final against Bologna with an indefensible performance, is a very harsh one. Two days after the final, the analysis in the press is even harsher than it was yesterday, when the focus (rightly) was on giving credit to the team that lifted the cup in Rome.

Joining in the criticism of the Rossoneri club is also Il Giornale, which this morning headlines Franco Ordine’s piece as follows:

“Football must be run by those who know football.”

Even before that, it reads:

“Milan disaster and Rossoblù lesson.”

In the subheadline, the tone is no less strong: “Bitter defeat that seals the failure of the project. Now a credible relaunch plan is needed.”

The immediate comparison is impossible not to make with the team that beat the Rossoneri in the final: “Bologna, built without the Rossoneri’s budget but with reliable and competent football governance, shows the way to the ‘diavolo’.” A defeat that must serve as a clear message to the ownership and management.
