With the defeat at the Olimpico and the disastrous results of this season, Milan can finish no higher than seventh in the standings and, as a result, will not qualify for any European competition next season.

Goals were scored by Mancini in the 3rd minute, Joao Felix in the 39th, Paredes in the 58th, and Cristante in the 87th.

Roma came out with real fury. The Giallorossi took the lead after just 3 minutes thanks to a header from Mancini, who outjumped Tomori and perfectly nodded in Soule’s cross—Soule had first earned and then delivered the corner kick from the flag on Maignan’s left. Ranieri’s team kept pushing and came close to doubling their lead through Soulé, who got past Jimenez, shifted to his left foot, and attempted to curl the ball into the far post from outside the area, narrowly missing the target. Milan’s response came through Jimenez, who capitalized on a defensive error, cut inside onto his right foot, and missed the near post by inches with Svilar rooted to the spot. In the 21st minute, the match took another turn: Gimenez elbowed Mancini square in the chest—Piccinini, called to the VAR, sent him off, and the Rossoneri were down to 10 men. Conceição didn’t panic, reorganized the team, and his side found the equalizer in the 39th minute through Joao Felix, who tapped in a rebounded shot from Jimenez after an excellent assist from Pulisic: 1-1.

The second half began with plenty of action and end-to-end play, but the first real chance went to Milan: Reijnders got on the end of a ball at the near post and shot over with his right foot. In the 52nd minute, Roma responded through Soule, who crossed to the far post for Saelemaekers—he laid it off for Angelino, whose left-footed effort was blocked for a corner. Moments later, the Belgian (Saelemaekers) combined with Kone and nearly found the target from outside the box. Roma retook the lead in the 58th minute with a stunning free-kick from Paredes, who surprised Maignan from about 25 meters out: a powerful right-footed shot over the wall made it 2-1. In the 79th minute, Leao had a huge chance, going one-on-one with Svilar, but the Roma goalkeeper brilliantly shut him down and closed off the angle. Roma sealed the match in the 89th minute with a magnificent goal from Cristante, who pounced on a rebound from Maignan after two shots from Angelino and El Shaarawy and struck a right-footed shot from outside the area, beating the French keeper.

Starting with the French goalkeeper, Maignan received a rating set at 5 while defenders Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia, and Strahinja Pavlovic earned ratings set at 4, 5.5 and 5 respectively.

As for Alex Jimeenz, he earned himself a decent 6.5 for his effort on the pitch while teammates Tijjani Reijnders, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yunus Musah only received ratings set at 5.5, 6, and 5.5.

American forward Christian Pulisic earned 6.5, while Santiago Gimenez, who had a red card in the first half, had the lowest rating: 3. As for Joao Felix, his rating is set at 7 with Rafael Leao and Youssouf Fofana earning 5, and 6 respectively.
