AC is on the hunt for a new goalkeeper as their current number one, Mike Maignan, has no intention of extending his contract, which runs until the summer of 2026. To avoid losing the Frenchman on a free transfer in a year’s time, the Rossoneri are planning to sell him this summer and recoup some funds.
According to DefensaCentral, Milan is weighing several options for the goalkeeper position, with Ukrainian shot-stopper Andriy Lunin of Real Madrid receiving some of the strongest endorsements. The source reveals that representatives of the Rossoneri have already informed Lunin’s agent, Jorge Mendes, of their readiness to offer around €15 million for the transfer.
To recap, Lunin joined in the summer of 2018 from Ukrainian club Zorya Luhansk. During his time with the Spanish giants, he has been loaned out multiple times to Leganés, Valladolid, and Oviedo.
In the 2023-24 season, following an injury to first-choice keeper Thibaut Courtois, Lunin seized his opportunity and featured in a significant number of matches for Los Blancos, showcasing confident performances and a high level of skill. His contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2030
