Rafael Leao has ended up on Bayern Munich’s radar, according to a report, and a good relationship with the agent Jorge Mendes could play in favour of a potential move.
It has been a season of ups and downs for Leao, once again struggling to perform consistently with the red and black shirt. Nevertheless, no matter how you look at it, the winger is on 12 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
As such, he remains a big name on the transfer market and according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, he has attracted the interest of Bayern Munich. They are looking for a high-profile winger, specifically one to play on the left, and Leao is one of their targets.
Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma is currently the top target, per the journalist, but Leao is only just behind and there have already been contacts. Indeed, the No.10’s agent/intermediary Jorge Mendes has a very good relationship with Bayern Munich’s sporting chief Max Eberl.
This relationship could thus play in favour of a potential deal, with Mendes having a knack for getting what he wants in the end. That being said, as the journalist concludes, the German side are still assessing the situation and no decisions have been made.
It could perhaps help Milan fund their mercato, with at least one star departure seemingly on the cards. Theo Hernandez is reportedly keen on leaving too.
