In a shock turn, AC Milan are considering the possibility of offering Sergio Conceicao a chance to stay at the club next season.
For months, the situation has been clear. Conceicao would take the club to the end of the season, and then the parties would split. Of course, there was a brief chance that the two could have continued, however, a loss in the Coppa Italia ended those suggestions.
Now, they have come back to life, though.
This evening, Igli Tare has finally been announced as the new sporting director, and with it, there have been suggestions that he could keep Conceicao at the club. Peppe Di Stefano, a Sky journalist, stated (via Milan News) that Albanian wanted to bring him to Lazio in the past, so there is a possibility.
The journalist continues, suggesting that a meeting could take place between the two to ‘understand whether they could continue or not’ in the future.
Considering the shortlist for Milan is rapidly getting smaller, with the options less and less inspiring, offering Conceicao a chance to build his Rossoneri with structure above him may not be the worst idea.
Additionally, the managerial market could be slightly more attractive next summer, which could see the Portuguese offered continuity in a ‘steady the ship’ like setting.
