Report: NBA A new star confirmed on the radar of the Warriors and Lakers… see more

As has often been the case in recent years, the Warriors and Lakers share the same shortcomings in their rosters: the lack of a true pivot and size in the paint. Golden State has been used to playing small-ball for years, while the Angelinos took the door against the Wolves and a super Rudy Gobert.

The reasons vary, but the objective remains the same for Golden State and Los Angeles this off-season: to recruit a pivot. Exactly who remains to be seen, but both franchises could proceed with a trade to achieve their goal. After all, it’s the best way to get a quality, high-impact player on their payroll.

Daniel Gafford, Nic Claxton or Mitchell Robinson: there will be several interesting names for this summer, but the Pacers’ situation is also worth keeping an eye on. For if the franchise shines in these playoffs, Myles Turner and his managers need to come to an agreement, as he will be a free agent this summer, and a departure is not impossible.

With an average of 15.6 points and 6.5 rebounds, plus more than 2 assists, Turner is in great shape and currently in his prime (29 years old). Now is the time for him to amass a big contract, and it’s not certain that talks with the Pacers will come to fruition. Kevin Pelton, via ESPN, thinks other franchises should take advantage.

Note that according to other insiders, the Pacers are willing to make a financial effort to try and retain Turner. And with their playoff run and solid roster, it’s hard to see the front office not doing what’s necessary. But should he leave, the pivot should have no trouble bouncing elsewhere this off-season.
