Mike Maignan has apologised to AC Milan fans for this season, and rounded the message off with a ‘captain’ emoji.
It is going to be a strange summer for Milan, with a number of stars potentially on the way out of the club. One of those, of course, is Maignan, whose renewal needs to be finalised this summer, or else he will have to leave.
The Frenchman’s season has certainly been a bit of a rollercoaster, with performances contrasting fairly regularly. However, he has regularly proven to be a leader, which is why Sergio Conceicao awarded him with the armband.
So, as the club’s captain, he has posted a message to the supporters on his Instagram, in an attempt to offer a bridge and the translation can be read below.
“My heart is heavy, I don’t know the weight of it. We ended a tough season! Everyone who loves, plays, and supports Milan, we are disappointed. There are no excuses, we are Milan.
“To all Milan fans, with your support, Milan will always be Milan.
