The move for Allegri has come about rather quickly. However, considering how long it took for Milan to appoint Igli Tare, a repeat was not needed. In fact, many had feared that the club would be left behind this summer.
Now, we know this will not be the case, though. Earlier today, it was reported that the club had agreed a deal with the Italian to sign a three-year contract, with a meeting scheduled to finalise things later in the afternoon. Well, that meeting is now underway.
Daniele Longo reports on X that Allegri is in Milano with Giorgio Furlani, whilst Sky (via Milan News) states that the meeting is ‘preparatory’ in the hopes of signing his contract with the club.
The coach has only come into serious contention again in the past few days. However, doubts were certainly in place due to the believed agreement the coach had with Napoli to become their head coach in the event that Antonio Conte left.
No green light is there yet, but it seems like it could arrive in the next 24 hours, if not sooner.
