With the increasingly likely departure of Theo Hernandez, AC Milan need a new left-back. Massimiliano Allegri has a dream in mind.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report, Theo is destined to leave Milan after six seasons and Milan – led by the new sporting director Igli Tare and the new coach Allegri – are working to identify his heir.
Among the various names evaluated by the management, Destiny Udogie seems to be at the top of the wish list. He considers Tottenham defender the ideal profile, but the likes of Maxim De Cuyper of Club Brugge and Junior Firpo of Leeds remain under observation.
Allegri’s forbidden dream
According to the paper, however, the new manager Allegri has another idea to strengthen the left side. His ‘dream’ is Andrea Cambiaso from Juventus, a player he appreciates for his tactical versatility and reliability, being able to play effectively on both flanks.
Cambiaso’, however, is more than complicated to sign. Juventus already set a big price for the full-back when Manchester City came in for him in the winter, and that is in addition to their reluctance to sell him to a direct rival.
Milan, therefore, is moving on multiple fronts: between difficult suggestions and more concrete paths, the post-Theo is one of the market priorities for the new season.
