Massimo Ambrosini has received an offer from AC Milan to return as a member of the management, but is not expected to accept it.
Earlier in the week, news emerged suggesting that Ambrosini – who currently works as a pundit for DAZN – has been offered the chance to return to Milan and work with Massimiliano Allegri once again.
According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan wanted Ambrosini in a sort of ‘team manager’ role, as someone who can act as a glue between Massimiliano Allegri’s staff and the upper management.
They wanted someone who embodies ‘Milanismo’, and everyone’s choice had converged on the name of Ambrosini. An offer was put forward, which he then denied in the media, out of respect for the club and the companies he works for.
The fact remains that the former midfielder had more than one discussion with Giorgio Furlani in addition to a personal meeting at Casa Milan about ten days ago. However, Ambrosini seems inclined not to accept Milan’s proposal.
Ambrosini’s bond with Milan is strong, direct, sincere. He would return to the Rossoneri but with a role where he can show his experience and his characteristics, rather than just an almost ambassadorial position. Also, he is happy as a TV pundit, and would only move for the perfect role.
