Chelsea are working overtime to get as many deals completed before the first part of the summer transfer window closes prior to their involvement in the Club World Cup.
The arrival of Dario Essugo, which was pre-agreed in March, was confirmed earlier this week as the club’s first summer signing. Liam Delap is set to follow with his £30million move from Ipswich Town set to be announced imminently.
A further two signings are believed to be in the works with talks having started for Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund. Chelsea’s opening offer is expected to be submitted in the coming days.
The latest development has come in between the sticks with an approach made to sign Mike Maignan from AC Milan. The 29-year-old has been on the Blues’ radar for some time and given the uncertain goalkeeper situation, attempts being made at a new addition are not too surprising.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea have since been sent an indirect hint regarding the striker situation.

Chelsea transfer target Rodrygo wants to discuss his future at Real Madrid with new head coach Xabi Alonso, a new report has claimed.
The Brazil international could depart Los Blancos this summer with Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool also showing an interest.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Rodrygo has not yet made up his mind over staying at Madrid with it claimed he wants to speak to Alonso first before then deciding his future.

Chelsea are preparing to submit their first bid to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
