There can be no hiding away from the fact that Milan failed on numerous fronts this season. However, the story of the Futuro is, perhaps, the most embarrassing. Nevertheless, the club cannot focus on the mistakes, but rather on the fixes.
In recent weeks, there have been suggestions that the Rossoneri could be saved by a repechage. This is a situation where one of the relegated Serie C sides is given another chance, effectively. However, it has always seemed a bit out of reach.
Of course, no decisions have been made yet, but there is a growing hope that the Diavolo will be on the right side of luck after a year where they were so far away from being lucky.
At present, it is not looking like this will be the case, though, with Calciomercato.com reporting that the current situation may see Inter given a chance. The integration for the repechage is as follows: a ‘second Serie A team’, then a Serie D team and only then a relegated Serie C team
So, the lineup now is that Inter Under-23 may get a place in Serie C, then Ravenna and Legnago Salus would also be in line to receive a chance. In other words, it looks very unlikely that the Futuro will not be in Serie D next season.
