Ruben Loftus-Cheek is one of the players who could leave AC Milan this summer, and according to a report, Lazio could make an attempt to secure his services.
It has nearly been two years since Loftus-Cheek joined Milan, signed from Chelsea in an €18m deal back in 2023. However, due to injuries and struggles with his role in the team, it hasn’t been a huge success so far.
It’s widely believed that the Englishman is one of the players who could say goodbye this summer, with Igli Tare and Max Allegri keen on starting from scratch. According to La Repubblica, as cited by MilanNews, Lazio are keeping a close eye on the situation.
Maurizio Sarri was announced as the new head coach recently, returning to the club, and he has a great relationship with Loftus-Cheek. The two established their connection at Chelsea and it’s no coincidence that the midfielder had his most successful season with the manager.
As such, while Sarri would mainly likely to reinforce Lazio with young players who can be developed, he could make an exception to reunite with Loftus-Cheek this summer. Especially if Milan were to put him on the market which, again, feels likely something they could absolutely do.
