AC Milan are subject to many changes in the team this season. However, the biggest will come in midfield, it seems.
Tijjani Reijnders has, sadly, confirmed his move to Manchester City today, whilst Yunus Musah is also heading towards an exit. Two players with drastically different situations, appreciations and destinations. Importantly, though, two players nonetheless.
So, there are additions needed. Luka Modric should be one, but not the only one, as Adrien Rabiot continues to be courted by Massimiliano Allegri. Even then, though, there are other targets.
A Fonsecian idea
Last summer, there were suggestions that Paulo Fonseca would reunite with a few players from his former club, LOSC Lille. No progress was really made on that idea, but the groundwork seems to have been laid.
According to Calciomercato.com, the club are preparing to add experience and youth to the midfield, so alongside Modric, there will be another idea of youth. Samuele Ricci has already been heavily discussed, but today’s idea is one towards Ayyoub Bouaddi.
There were links present last year, and they could be revisited now, with another 36 games under his belt – nine of which came in the Champions League – and another year older. A contract until 2027 binds the youngster to Lille, but the Diavolo’s interest is there again.
