Santiago Gimenez arrived in January with a heavy transfer fee, and so far, AC Milan have not seen it paid back. So, another striker could arrive.
There needs to be time and faith with Gimenez. After all, moving from the Netherlands to Italy is a big step, and we have seen that it takes time to truly develop; look at Tijjani Reijnders, for example. Nevertheless, Milan cannot really wait.
So, it seems that another No.9 will arrive in the summer, and it is due to requests from Massimiliano Allegri.
As the report states, Gimenez is not ‘100% fit’ for Allegri’s idea, it seems, with his technical and tactical needs falling slightly short. That is not to say that he is bad. However, he needs more guarantees, it seems.
So, Allegri has asked the Rossoneri for a striker ‘of the highest level’ to complement Gimenez, and there are three names on the list.
Firstly is that of Dusan Vlahovic, whom the Livorno coach is desperate for. In fact, since his arrival, there has been significant talk of his arrival, with the idea growing in feasibility, it seems. However, his salary will be the issue, if there is to be one.
Then, the Rossoneri are considering Darwin Nunez and Mateo Retegui. Both are on the market for a higher price than what the Serbian would be – €45 million for Nunez, whilst Retegui’s departure requires a figure of €35m.
Reflections will continue, and Gimenez will have pre-season. However, it would not be a surprise to see another striker arrive.
