There have been new talks over a deal for Granit Xhaka, a report claims, with Massimiliano Allegri beginning to form a midfield plan.
According to Calciomercato.com, Allegri is increasingly involved in the dynamics of the new Milan that is being born. The coach was chosen by the new sporting director Igli Tare and the ownership to redeem the last disastrous season and bring the Rossoneri club back to immediate competitiveness.
In the transfer market, Milan are moving trying to meet the needs of a manager who seeks greater balance in the structuring of the squad and who seems to have immediately understood the lack of a certain amount of leadership within the dressing room.
And so, after having confidently and decisively focused on Luka Modric – the protagonist of a lightning deal closed in the space of a few weeks – one of the hottest names for the midfield that the Rossoneri management are working on is that of Granit Xhaka.
As soon as he took over at the helm of Milan, Allegri highlighted how one of the spaces to fill in his ideal midfield is that of a deep-lying playmaker with balancing duties. Exactly the characteristics that the Swiss international has.
Xhaka is tied to the German club by a contract that expires in June 2028 and boasts a solid relationship with the management there, but at the same time he would welcome the right new experience.
Contacts between his entourage and Milan have been frequent in recent weeks and have also occurred in the last few hours. Xhaka, along with Ardon Jashari and Javi Guerra, could help the rebuild of a department that needs help after Tijjani Reijnders’ exit.
