Liverpool are one of 29 clubs to have already claimed a place in the league phase of the 2025-26 Champions League.
They will be joined by five other English teams, with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea qualifying courtesy of a top-four finish.
Newcastle United, meanwhile, took the division’s extra European Performance Spot and Tottenham Hotspur will also participate by virtue of winning the Europa League in 2024-25.
Spain will provide five sides to the competition – Athletic Club, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Villarreal – with the latter involved courtesy of the other available European Performance Spot.
Four qualify from Germany in the form of Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt, and Italy too, who will be represented by Atalanta, Internazionale, Juventus and Napoli.
Holders Paris Saint-Germain will be joined by fellow French teams Marseille and Monaco, while both Ajax and PSV Eindhoven have qualified from the Netherlands.
Galatasaray (Turkiye), Olympiacos (Greece), Slavia Prague (Czechia), Sporting CP (Portugal) and Union SG (Belgium) are the other confirmed qualifiers.
The remaining seven spots will be decided via qualifying fixtures later this year, with the draw for the league phase to take place on August 28, followed by matchday one across September 16/17/18.
The new format, introduced last season, sees the 36 participants seeded into four pots and drawn to face two teams from each in the league phase, one at home and one away.
UEFA’s regulations say: “In principle, teams from the same association cannot be drawn against each other and each team may play against a maximum of two opponents from any other one association, subject to Paragraph 16.03 (below).
“The UEFA administration may determine alternative conditions for the draw in accordance with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee and may adapt any of the conditions of the draw to avoid deadlock situations and/or take into account any relevant constraints in light of decisions taken by the UEFA Executive Committee.”
