The 26-year-old moved to the San Siro two seasons ago from Villareal, but struggled to break into the core of the first team. In 71 games for the Rossoneri, the one-time UEFA Europa League winner scored eight goals and provided six assists, a feat he beat in his final season in the La Liga.
As a result, Milan are looking to ship Chukwueze out, and are already in talks with Real Betis over a possible deal for the 2025 Unity Cup winner.
According to Alessandro Jacobone, son of former Milan coach, Sergio Conceiçao, who is currently on loan with Juventus, Francisco (popularly referred to as Chico) has been offered to Milan recently.
The 22-year-old winger is set to return to his parent club after his loan spell with the Bianconeri which saw him score five goals and provide four assists in 37 games for Juventus.
The Old Ladies had an option to make the deal permanent, but in the end they decided not to spend the money required, which was believed to be €30m.
Milan are now keeping tabs on the UEFA Nations League winner, but will only negotiate with Porto if they make a sale. Given Chico has played in the Serie A, settling down won’t be a problem if he chooses to join to move to the San Siro.
Samuel Chukwueze in the past, has voiced his displeasure over his lack of playing time in Milan, but it is unknown if he’s interested in a return to the La Liga. He also has several offers from the English Premier League.
