It has been a very lively start to the summer for AC Milan, with some stars heading out the door, and more is expected to come. With that said, what is the current status of the Rossoneri squad?
The 2024-25 season forced Milan to change direction completely, appointing the likes of Igli Tare and Max Allegri for a more classic Serie A approach. However, while the goal for next season is clear, it has resulted in a lot of movement on the mercato.
Taking a look at the squad as things stand, it feels a bit chaotic and as such, we have divided the players into three different categories: To stay, uncertainties and to leave. Granted that a lot can change on the mercato, at least this gives us a semi-good picture.
To stay
The fact that there are only ten players in this category says a lot about the summer so far, with the management reconsidering the future of almost every player in the squad. Maybe you could even argue that Pavlovic isn’t safe, which would take the number down to nine players.
- Marco Sportiello
- Lorenzo Torriani
- Matteo Gabbia
- Alex Jimenez
- Strahinja Pavlovic
- Warren Bondo
- Youssouf Fofana
- Christian Pulisic
- Rafael Leao
- Santiago Gimenez
Uncertainties
Maignan appeared destined to leave the club but after Chelsea refused to increase their offer, a stay cannot be ruled out. Emerson Royal, meanwhile, is a player Milan would love to offload but it remains to be seen if any clubs are interested (he has only just come back from a long injury).
- Mike Maignan
- Emerson Royal
- Filippo Terracciano
- Malick Thiaw
- Fikayo Tomori
- Tommaso Pobega
- Ruben Loftus-Cheek
- Samuel Chukwueze
- Alexis Saelemaekers
- Luka Jovic
- Noah Okafor
To leave
Finally, from the loanees that won’t be redeemed to outcasts, there are some players who most definitely will leave the club this summer. Musah, for example, appears to be just one step away from Napoli.
- Alessandro Florenzi (contract expires)
- Kyle Walker (loan expires)
- Tammy Abraham (loan expires)
- Riccardo Sottil (loan expires)
- Joao Felix (loan expires)
- Pierre Kalulu (has left)
- Marco Pellegrino (has left)
- Tijjani Reijnders (has left)
- Devis Vasquez
- Theo Hernandez
- Yunus Musah
- Yacine Adli
- Lorenzo Colombo
- Marko Lazetic
