Report: Bayern Set New Record in 10-0 Win Against Auckland City FC

Bayern Munich delivered a historic performance at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, thrashing Auckland City FC 10-0 in their Group C opener on Sunday.

The victory set a new record for the most goals scored in a single Club World Cup match across all formats.

Vincent Kompany’s Bayern side dominated from the outset, with Kingsley Coman netting twice and Michael Olise and Sacha Boey adding to the tally, making it 4-0 within 22 minutes. Olise secured a brace, and Thomas Müller scored before halftime, bringing the score to 6-0.

In the second half, Jamal Musiala replaced Harry Kane and stole the spotlight with a rapid 21-minute hat-trick. Müller capped off the record-breaking victory with the 10th goalBayern, two-time Club World Cup champions (2013 and 2020), are off to a flying start. The other Group C fixture will see Boca Juniors face Benfica on Monday, June 16.

Elsewhere, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami opened the tournament with a goalless draw against Egypt’s Al Ahly. Mahmoud Trezeguet missed a penalty late in the first half, denying the Egyptian side a crucial win.
