Among the names that appear at the top of the Milan’s wish list, two particularly appreciated profiles stand out, despite the strong competition from the other big teams in the league. They are Giovanni Leoni of Parma – who has already been spoken about a lot – and Niccolo Fortini of Fiorentina.
As Sportitalia (via TMW) report, the fact that Leoni is on Milan’s list is no surprise nor a new development. The 18-year-old centre-back is considered a top-level prospect and his exponential growth has not gone unnoticed at Milanello
The battle to get him promises to be heated, but Milan are willing to try. Massimiliano Allegri knows the qualities of the central defender well, having seen him in person at the Stadio Tardini on more than one occasion.
The other hot name is Niccolò Fortini, who is just one year older than Leoni and is coming off an excellent season on loan with Juve Stabia, where he demonstrated quality and reliability despite his young age.
Fiorentina, of course, would like to keep him long-term, but Milan’s interest could shake La Viola’s certainties. Milan are aiming to reinforce the flanks with promising players ‘Made in Italy’ and Fortini fits perfectly into this strategy.
