Besiktas, aiming to build a strong squad for the upcoming season, has accelerated its efforts in the transfer market, particularly focusing on the right and left-back positions.
The Black Eagles are reportedly set to revamp their full-back lineup. Following the breakdown of talks with Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel, Besiktas has shifted its attention to AC Milan’s Davide Calabria.
The experienced Italian full-back, whose contract expires this summer, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Bologna. Besiktas has begun exploring a potential move for the 27-year-old as part of its defensive overhaul.
On the left flank, Besiktas struggled to find consistent performances throughout last season and tested several players in the role. Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is expected to rely on Rashica and Arroyo on the right wing, has reportedly requested a strong addition on the opposite side.
In response, the club is now eyeing Ibrahim Zubairu, a 21-year-old Ghanaian left winger currently playing for Serbian side Partizan. According to sources close to the club, Besiktas has proposed a loan deal with a purchase option and received positive feedback from the technical staff.
Zubairu had an impressive 2023–24 campaign, featuring in 34 matches and contributing 11 goals and 4 assists.
