Arsenal appear to have leapfrogged Chelsea in the race to sign Jorrel Hato. The 19-year-old defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now following his impressive performances for Ajax.Hato, whose contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena expires in June 2028, featured 31 times in the Eredivisie this term, scoring two goals and providing six assists. Playing an important role in the side, he helped the Dutch giants finish in second place and qualify for the Champions League.The Netherlands international, who made his 100th appearance for Ajax in March, played at left-back for much of the campaign, but, in the past, he’s also starred as a centre-back. Hato’s meteoric rise to the first-team hasn’t gone under the radar; he’s attracted interest from some top clubs.
