AC Milan will look for another winger this summer despite the return of Alexis Saelemaekers, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
It was reported yesterday by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Massimiliano Allegri wishes to keep Saelemaekers now that he has returned to base, because he believed him to be a very useful and versatile asset.
However, that report also stated that the Belgian could actually take the starting right-back spot. That news, in addition to the reports regarding the potential sale of Samuel Chukwueze and Riccardo Sottil’s loan spell ending, means that the wing position is a bit light.
Speaking on Sky (via MilanNews), Di Marzio took stock of Milan’s current situation in terms of the summer market and he confirmed that while there are things blocked at the moment, movement is expected.
“It’s a Milan that is working on the sales issue. Theo has not, for now, accepted the transfer to Arabia, and the transfer of Musah to Napoli has been blocked. So, Milan have decided to focus on the midfield,” he said.
“Modric will arrive and there will be a new offer for Javi Guerra, there is also the Xhaka deal, but for now Milan has not wanted to sink it. We will also work on the wingers. In addition to Saelemaekers there will be another player in that area of the pitch.”
